Sami Abu Zahri, a senior leader of Hamas, stated that the Israeli withdrawal from the Netzarim axis is a clear sign of defeat, demonstrating Prime Minister Netanyahu’s failure to achieve his goals or maintain Israeli presence in Gaza.

He added, “Repeated invasions have the same result: Gaza remains impregnable to invaders.”

Abu Zahri continued: ” the humiliating Israeli withdrawal from Netzarim was a direct admission of Netanyahu’s defeat.”

He recalled that in 2005, Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon withdrew from Gaza, despite his earlier claim that “Netzarim is like Tel Aviv.” Now, 20 years later, Netanyahu’s statements that “I will not withdraw from Netzarim under any circumstances” have been proven false, as Israel retreats”.

Abu Zahri emphasized that, “While invasions may recur, the result is always the same: Gaza stands strong against invaders.”

Hamas also issued a statement, described the Israeli occupation army’s withdrawal from the Netzarim corridor as a “victory for the Palestinian people’s will” and “the culmination of the resistance’s steadfastness and heroism.”

Hamas said that the Israeli occupation’s departure from the corridor confirmed that the goals of its aggression against Gaza failed.

“Our Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, with their steadfastness on their land and the sacrifices and heroism of their sons from the resistance spearheaded by al-Qassam Brigades, have torpedoed the illusions of the occupation and its fascist leadership about controlling Gaza militarily and dividing it,” Hamas added.

The Movement voiced its determination to uphold the Palestinian people’s right to live freely on their land and frustrate any plan to displace them, vowing to continue its struggle until its people realize their aspirations for self-determination and the establishment of their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital.
