Hodeidah Governor Inaugurates Free Medical Camp

The Governor of Hodeidah, Abdullah Abduh Atifi, along with Dr. Khaled Suhail, head of Al-Thawra Hospital, and Mohammed Haza, director of the Zakat Authority, inaugurated a free medical camp focused on heart diseases, high blood pressure, and diabetes.

Organized by the Zakat Authority, the camp will run for two days during Ramadan.

Governor Atifi praised the efforts of Al-Thawra Hospital in providing medical and treatment services to citizens, both from Hodeidah and neighboring provinces. He emphasized the camp’s importance in targeting the most vulnerable groups to alleviate the suffering of patients who cannot afford treatment costs.

Dr. Khaled Suhail explained that the camp is part of the hospital’s broader humanitarian efforts to support poor and needy communities.

The camp offers free services, including lab tests, heart monitoring, medication distribution, and health guidance from pharmacy and clinical nutrition teams.

A meeting was also held at Al-Thawra Hospital, chaired by Governor Atifi, to discuss the hospital’s conditions and the medical services it provides. Dr. Suhail highlighted recent developments and expansions, including the provision of state-of-the-art medical equipment.

Dr. Suhail announced the acquisition of the latest microscope for brain and nerve diseases in the Middle East, which will significantly improve the diagnosis and treatment of neurological conditions.

Governor Atifi reiterated the local authority’s commitment to supporting the hospital by providing modern equipment and qualified medical staff to enhance healthcare services for citizens.

Additionally, the Director of the Zakat Authority announced that the authority would cover the treatment costs for 40 cardiac catheterization cases annually, reflecting its dedication to supporting the healthcare sector in the province.
