Hodeidah University and the University Student Forum organized a cultural and intellectual event on Sunday, marking the anniversary of the martyrdom of President Saleh al-Sammad.

In the event, Mohammed Halisi, the Deputy Governor of Hodeidah, praised the late president’s dedication to the people and country, highlighting his exceptional leadership skills in managing the state.

He emphasized that the martyrdom of President Al-Sammad was a great loss for Yemen but did not derail his vision, as Yemen continues to strengthen its path under the Quranic movement, becoming more resilient despite the loss of its leaders.

Halisi urged the university’s academics and students to follow in the footsteps of Martyr Al-Sammad by building institutions and empowering future generations with knowledge to ensure success.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Nahari, Dean of the Center for Development and Quality Assurance at the university, highlighted the importance of commemorating the martyr’s legacy, focusing on his role in strengthening internal unity, supporting the resistance, and defending the nation’s sovereignty.

Sheikh Ali Adhabi, Vice President of Dar Al-Uloom University, stated that the aggression against Yemen mistakenly believed it could undermine the state’s project by targeting Al-Sammad.

He affirmed that Martyr Al-Sammad laid the foundation for Yemen’s modern state despite the challenges he faced during his presidency.

The vice president also acknowledged Martyr Al-Sammad’s significant role in supporting the Yemeni armed forces, especially through the “One Hand Protects, One Hand Builds” project, which contributed to the rebuilding of the military and its continuous efforts against Israeli occupation.
