Israeli occupation forces have continued their assault on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp for the 20th consecutive day, leaving behind 25 fatalities and dozens of injuries since the beginning of the assault.
Palestinian sources reported extensive damage to homes and property in Jenin camp. After Israeli military vehicles withdrew from some areas of the camp, they repositioned in others, revealing houses that had been completely flattened.
The destruction extended to streets, infrastructure, cars, and private property.
Jenin Governor, Kamel Abu al-Rob, stated in a press release that over 15,000 people have been displaced from the camp, including 3,500 families, who are now scattered across several towns and villages in the governorate, with most of them currently residing in the town of Burqin, west of Jenin.
He confirmed that the occupation forces continue to demolish and burn citizens’ homes in the camp, adding that the prolonged siege on Jenin city over the past two years has worsened the already dire economic situation.
Meantime, Israeli drones continue to fly over Jenin refugee camp, repeatedly dropping bombs in the camp’s square and several surrounding streets.
Furthermore, Israeli forces have maintained their siege on Jenin Government Hospital, after bulldozing its entrance and the main street leading to it. For the 20th consecutive day, hospital departments are suffering from severe shortages of drinking water.
The municipality of Jenin, in cooperation with Civil Defense teams, has been attempting to deliver water to the hospital using small agricultural tractors, after Israeli forces prevented water tankers from entering.
Israeli occupation forces have also sent large reinforcements, including military bulldozers, to Jenin city and the surrounding areas of the camp.
