The head of the National Redeployment Team, Major General Ali Al-Moshki, met today in Al-Hodeidah Governorate with the Acting Head of the United Nations Mission to support the “Hodeidah Agreement”, Mary Machita.
During the meeting, Al-Moshki stressed the keenness of the leadership in Sana’a to alleviate the suffering of citizens, referring to the initiatives put forward by the government to open humanitarian roads and corridors, including opening the Saqm and Al-Mahajar crossings to facilitate movement.
He also called on the UN mission to oblige the other party to open these corridors on their part, stressing that efforts are facing their intransigence.
Al-Moshki called on the mission to support the efforts of the Executive Center for Dealing with Mines to clear areas contaminated with war remnants in Al-Hodeidah directorates, as they pose a major threat to the lives of civilians. He also stressed the need to adhere to the outcomes of the Sweden Agreement to ensure that the governorate’s residents benefit.
For her part, Machita confirmed that the mission is working to complete previous efforts, praising the positive cooperation provided by the national team to make its tasks a success.
