President Al-Mashat: Nasrallah’s Martyrdom Embodies Islamic Unity

Mahdi Al-Mashat, President of the Supreme Political Council, emphasized that ‘the martyr of Islam, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, was a unique figure of his time and a living testament to the righteousness of the Husseini path—a life devoted to truth and crowned by martyrdom, the highest honor.’

In an article titled “In the Position of the Master of Resistance and the Martyr of Islam,” President Al-Mashat wrote: “Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah was, at all times, a father to the free, a leader and brother to the righteous, and a compassionate, generous, and humble soul to all. He lived for the sake of God, striving tirelessly until he attained martyrdom in the manner of his grandfather Hussein, peace be upon him, and on the path of Jerusalem. What a noble journey it was.”

President Al-Mashat highlighted that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s life embodied the principles of righteousness, jihad, defiance against oppression, and service to Islam. He achieved, in a remarkably short time, what few could in an era dominated by falsehood, injustice, and relentless adversity. “He liberated his country, defeated the Israeli enemy, dismantled the myth of their invincibility, supported the oppressed, established justice, and inspired hope. He exemplified the ideal Muslim life, culminating in martyrdom while confronting the enemies of the nation and championing its most sacred cause.”

He added, “Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah’s martyrdom represents the pinnacle of Islamic unity. Through his blood, he triumphed over the Zionist and American schemes to divide Sunni and Shiite Muslims. From the very first day of the battle to support Palestine and Gaza, he offered hundreds of martyrs, including Hezbollah’s top leaders, and sealed his commitment with his own life. His sacrifice stands as the clearest proof that the enemy of this nation—despite its diverse sects, denominations, and countries—is one.”

President Al-Mashat continued, “Though we mourn the loss of one of the most honorable figures of our time, we find solace in the teachings of the Quran and the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and in the legacy left by Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah. His words and principles remain a guiding light for every mujahid on their path. How could it be otherwise, when he himself yearned for martyrdom, faced every danger without fear, and never wavered in the face of criticism?”

He described Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah as “a martyr of the nation, humanity, Jerusalem, Palestine, Lebanon, Yemen, truth, and justice—indeed, a martyr for all noble values. He defended the principles of Islam across the globe, from Lebanon to Palestine, Bosnia to Afghanistan, Syria to Iraq, and beyond. He was a steadfast supporter of the oppressed, transcending religious and ethnic boundaries to stand for humanity itself.”

President Al-Mashat noted that Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah dedicated his life to defending Lebanon, striving for its independence, freedom, and strength. “At a time when others turned their backs, he stood firmly in solidarity with Yemen, offering unwavering support.”

He concluded, “The martyrdom of this great mujahid is a profound loss for the entire nation, given his immense role, Islamic symbolism, and global influence. Yet, we take comfort in knowing that God chose him to join the ranks of the prophets, the righteous, and the martyrs who preceded him. Hundreds and thousands of mujahideen, heroes, and leaders, nurtured by his teachings and example, will continue his journey. Through their efforts, and alongside all the mujahideen of the world, the divine promise he so often reminded us of—the liberation of Al-Aqsa Mosque and the defeat of the temporary entity—will be fulfilled.”

He expressed his deepest condolences to the family, followers, and admirers of the martyr of Islam, Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah, in Lebanon, the Arab world, and beyond. He renewed the pledge to continue on Nasrallah’s path, remaining faithful to his cause until the nation is united in truth under the Allah Almighty.
