The committee assigned in Hodeidah Governorate destroyed six tons of expired food items, as part of the control efforts to protect the consumer and ensure the safety of food products in the markets.
The Director of the Economy, Industry and Investment Office in the governorate, Saleh Mohammed, confirmed the continuation of monitoring the markets, especially with the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, and not to be lenient with any violations that affect the health of consumers.
He praised the efforts of the cooperating parties in the destruction process, primarily the local authority, the security services, the Violations Prosecution, and the control authorities, which contributed to implementing the procedures to control and destroy food items unfit for consumption.
The Director of the Economy Office called on traders and suppliers to adhere to the regulations and laws.. stressing that measures will be taken against any attempt to tamper with the quality of products or display goods unfit for consumption.
