The Supreme Elections and Referendum Committee on Wednesday commemorated the annual anniversary of Martyr President Saleh Al-Sammad with a central speech event.
During the event, the Chairman of the Supreme Elections Committee, Judge Mohammed Al-Salmi, praised Martyr Al-Sammad for shouldering immense responsibilities when he assumed the presidency of the Supreme Political Council during an exceptional and difficult phase.
He worked tirelessly to unify ranks and confront the American, Saudi, and Emirati aggression with courage and heroism, driven by faith and patriotism, rather than a desire for power or personal gain.
“Martyr Al-Sammad led Yemen through its most challenging stages, accepting responsibility with a sense of duty, viewing it as a loss rather than a gain”.
He managed the affairs of the homeland with wisdom, determination, and competence,” Judge Al-Salmi remarked, highlighting the martyr’s heroic stance and the deep meaning of sacrifice he embodied in defending Yemen’s sovereignty.
In his speech, the Secretary-General of the Committee, Mohammed Al-Jalal, emphasized that Martyr President Al-Sammad was a product of a great Quranic school, raised under the guidance of its flags. His life, movement, and jihad were infused with these values, ultimately leading to his martyrdom for the sake of God.
“Martyr Al-Sammad took on responsibility at a time when Yemen was under aggression and siege by the coalition of injustice and global arrogance, which sought to break the will of the Yemeni people. Yet, the martyr had a clear vision and a solid approach to managing the country’s affairs,” Al-Jalal explained.
Al-Jalal went on to say that Al-Sammad was both a president and a mujahid under the leadership of Sayyed Abdul-Malik Badr al-Din al-Houthi. He emphasized that commemorating Martyr Al-Sammad serves as a reminder of his enduring qualities of pride, dignity, sacrifice, and service, while offering an opportunity to reflect on his contributions in defending God’s religion and the nation.
“Today, we express our pride and honor in the sacrifices of the martyrs, particularly the martyr leaders Hussein Badr al-Din al-Houthi, Saleh Al-Sammad, and all those whose sacrifices led to victory and honor for the Yemeni people. Despite the aggression and siege, the Yemeni people stood firm, unwavering in their support for their brothers in Gaza, remaining steadfast until victory was achieved in halting the aggression against Gaza.”
