The office of the General Authority for Endowments in Taiz Governorate condemned the burning of the historic Al-Arif Billah Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Hadrami mosque in Al-Armah village, Jabal Habashi District, by members of the Islah Party.
In a statement obtained by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), the office said that the crime took place after citizens gathered to celebrate the night on the half of Sha’ban in the mosque, a site regarded as a symbol of cultural and religious heritage.
The statement emphasized that burning the historic mosque is not merely the destruction of a building but a criminal act that targets places of worship and seeks to sow discord, fear, and hatred among society.
The statement called on human rights and religious organizations, as well as citizens, to stand against this heinous crime, work to rebuild what was destroyed, and hold perpetrators and supporters of these terrorist groups accountable.
