The collapse of the currency against foreign currencies in the city of Aden, which is controlled by the UAE-backed Transitional Council in southern Yemen, has doubled the suffering of citizens, especially those with limited income.

The price of a (50) kilogram bag of flour in the city of Aden has risen with the US dollar exceeding the 2295 riyals barrier, to 54 thousand riyals, while the price of flour in Sana’a does not exceed 13 thousand riyals.

It is expected that the prices of basic foodstuffs such as flour, wheat and sugar will witness a new wave of increases, especially with the approach of the month of Ramadan, and the continued collapse of the currency, whose exchange rate has reached 600 riyals against one Saudi riyal.
