Two Successful Operations To Launch Torpedo Missiles From Fatih Submarine & SH Helicopter

The Iranian army announced yesterday, Saturday, the successful launch of the “Valfajr” war torpedo missile from the “Fateh” submarine during the operational phase of the “Zolfaghar 1403” joint maneuvers.

Tasnim International News Agency reported that the domestically manufactured “Valfajr” oxygen and electric torpedoes were launched from the Tariq, Fateh, and Ghadir submarines and accurately hit their targets in the Sea of Oman.

The oxygen torpedo, which was entirely manufactured by Iranian experts, uses compressed oxygen instead of compressed air as fuel, which increases its efficiency.

The electric training torpedo, which was launched from the Tariq submarine against underwater targets, has undergone technical updates that make it more advanced compared to previous generations.

The SH helicopter also carried out a successful attack, launching a “Mark 46” torpedo and accurately hitting its sea target. This torpedo was designed by Iranian Navy experts in cooperation with scientific centers and defense industries, and has a high level of safety compared to other systems.

Brigadier General Alireza Sheikh, spokesman for the maneuvers, stated that the use of domestic equipment and weapons is one of the most prominent strengths of the “Zolfaghar 1403” maneuvers. He stressed that Iran’s defense capabilities have become entirely based on domestic capabilities, thanks to the efforts of scientists and specialists in the army, the Ministry of Defense, knowledge-based companies, and research centers.

The main phase of the “Zolfaghar 1403” joint maneuvers was launched yesterday morning, led by Admiral Habibullah Sayyari, and with the password “Ya Baqiyatullah al-A’zam (may God hasten his reappearance)”, and the maneuvers extend to the coasts of Makran, the Sea of Oman, and the northern Indian Ocean up to the tenth latitude.
