The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) expressed its deep concern over the deteriorating conditions of Palestinian children in the West Bank as a result of the aggression of the Israeli occupation forces.
According to the organization’s official website, the organization’s regional director, Edouard Beigbeder, condemned last night all forms of violence against children, calling for an immediate cessation of “armed actions” in the West Bank.
According to reports, 13 Palestinian children were killed in the West Bank during the first two months of 2025, including seven children who were killed since January 19, while 195 children were killed in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, representing a 200 percent increase compared to the previous period.
Beigbeder pointed out that the aggression, especially in Jenin, led to widespread destruction of infrastructure, causing power and water outages, while thousands of families were displaced from refugee camps.
He pointed out that education has been disrupted in about 100 schools, which has exacerbated the psychological and social burdens on children, stressing the need to ensure safe access to humanitarian aid and protect civilians, and warned that the worsening crisis requires the parties to adhere to international humanitarian law and seek a permanent political solution.
