US Atlantic Council: Shooting Down The MQ-9 proved Yemenis’ superiority Over American capabilities

American Atlantic Council confirmed in a report that the Yemenis’ downing of the “MQ-9” aircraft constitutes a link in a long series of successful Yemeni strikes against American drones since the beginning of the war in Gaza, highlighting the growing offensive capabilities of the Yemenis.

The council added that the downing of the “MQ-9” aircraft in Yemen weakens American intelligence and targeting systems.

The American Council continued in its report that given the benefits that the Yemenis continue to reap locally and internationally from the downing of the “MQ-9” aircraft, the United States needs to adjust its strategy in deploying drones to ensure that the “MQ-9” is reduced to attacks.

The report indicated that the “MQ-9” aircraft is considered the backbone of the American drone fleet, and despite its technical superiority, it has proven its weakness in the face of air defense systems in Yemen, as the Yemenis have proven their ability to partially weaken the United States’ combat superiority, harm American air superiority, and expose major weaknesses in the defense systems of the “MQ-9” aircraft, which may prompt Washington’s opponents to exploit these loopholes.

It is worth noting that the Yemeni Air Defense Forces announced the downing of 18 American MQ-9 Reaper drones, which are one of the most advanced drones in the world.

The MQ-9 is considered one of the most modern American drones, equipped with advanced technologies including accurate surveillance and targeting systems.
