The Yemeni Parliament, in its session chaired by Speaker Yahya Ali Al-Ra’i, praised on Sunday the initiative of the local authority in Taiz province to open Al-Hawban Road and Qasr Al-Shaab – Al-Kamb for 24 hours during the month of Ramadan.
The Parliament affirmed that this initiative, which follows the directives of the Revolution Leader Sayyid Abdulmalik Badr al-Din al-Houthi and H.E. Field Marshal Mahdi al-Mashat, Head of the Supreme Political Council, will help alleviate the suffering of citizens.
It called on the other party to open the road on its side and work towards facilitating the movement of citizens to and from the city of Taiz.
The Parliament also condemned the suppression of demonstrators by UAE occupation forces in Socotra Province, who were protesting the foreign presence and the deteriorating conditions in the occupied provinces.
It renewed its call for unity in the face of these violations and aggressions, emphasizing resistance to the occupiers and rejection of foreign tutelage until all invaders and occupiers are defeated from Yemeni lands, islands, and waters.
It also called for the primacy of reason and finding a peaceful solution to all political and economic issues, away from foreign interference by the countries of the aggression coalition.
During the session, the Parliament welcomed statements made by the European Union Ambassador Gabriel Viñales, who affirmed that stability in Yemen is crucial for the stability of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries, Bab al-Mandab, the Red Sea, and international navigation through the Suez Canal.
The European Union reiterated its commitment to supporting UN-led negotiations to achieve peace in Yemen.
The Parliament also praised the position of the Russian representative in the Security Council, who held President Trump’s reckless decision responsible for obstructing peace efforts in Yemen.
Additionally, Parliament expressed approval of statements from some US officials who described the designation of the Houthi Ansarullah movement as a terrorist organization as “unrealistic and unenforceable,” emphasizing that Ansarullah represents a purely Yemeni will.
In a related matter, the Parliament, reviewed the report from the Agriculture, Irrigation, and Fisheries Committee on the level of government implementation of recommendations concerning the complaint from pomegranate farmers and exporters in Saada Province.
The discussion of the report was postponed to a future session to be held in the presence of the relevant government representatives.
