Yemen’s First Clinical Pharmacy Conference At 21st September University Inaugurated

The 7th Scientific Conference at 21st September University of Applied Sciences, alongside the first Yemeni Clinical Pharmacy Conference, was inaugurated today with the participation of high-level officials, including Sultan Al-Samie, a member of the Supreme Political Council, and Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb Al-Rahwi.

Under the theme “The Role of Clinical Pharmacy in Enhancing Health Care and Promoting Exceptional Pharmaceutical Practices,” the conference aims to spotlight the crucial role of clinical pharmacists in improving healthcare standards in Yemen.

During the inauguration, Al-Samie highlighted the significance of the first clinical pharmacy conference, emphasizing its importance in enhancing patient care through clinical pharmacy.

He expressed pride in the university’s achievements, particularly in its short history of less than nine years, having graduated over 4,500 medical students. He acknowledged the support and satisfaction of the leadership regarding the university’s educational and research activities.

He encouraged the academic staff and the university administration to continue serving the nation and contributing to its development, noting the university’s resilience despite limited resources, the blockade, and aggression.

For his part, the Prime Minister, Al-Rahwi, praised the ongoing academic activity in Yemeni universities, particularly 21st September University, and its impact on scientific development and expertise.

He emphasized the critical humanitarian role of doctors and the importance of expanding clinical pharmacy conferences to strengthen healthcare and improve pharmaceutical education.

Al-Rahwi also addressed the US administration’s unjust classification of Yemen as a terrorist entity, stressing that the Yemeni people have always been known for their moderation and adherence to Islamic and humanitarian values.

He also condemned the Saudi-UAE occupation forces for their crimes and violations in occupied areas of Yemen, stressing that unity is the key to Yemen’s strength and sovereignty.

Meanwhile, Minister of Education and Research, Hassan Al-Saadi highlighted the remarkable growth of 21st September University, established amidst the ongoing war and siege.

He emphasized the university’s contributions to education and innovation despite the challenging circumstances.

Dr. Hatem Al-Dais, Deputy Minister of Education and Research, stressed the importance of the conference in enhancing the role of clinical pharmacists in hospitals, ensuring quality healthcare.

Dr. Majed Massar, President of the University, spoke about the conference’s aim to improve healthcare through better integration of clinical pharmacists in healthcare teams and the latest advancements in pharmaceutical practice.

At the end of the event, several prominent figures, including Al-Samie, Al-Rahwi, and other ministers, were honored with shields for their contributions to the conference. A pharmacy exhibition accompanying the conference was also inaugurated.
