In an unprecedented incident, the entire plane’s passengers were removed from Aden Airport, which is under the control of the UAE occupation, and the flight was diverted to Shabwa to transport mercenary Aidarous al-Zubaidi.
According to media reports, passengers at Aden International Airport complained that they were forced to disembark from the plane bound for Jeddah in order to transport Aidarous al-Zubaidi, the leader of the Transitional Council militias, the coalition-appointed governor of Aden, Ahmed Lamlas, and a number of Transitional Council ministers to Ataq.
According to the testimonies of the passengers who spoke, they were removed from the plane at 10:00 a.m. and have since been lying on the floor of the airport lounge, with no attention paid by the authorities to transport them to their original destination.
The passengers expressed their discontent with these practices, which demonstrate the abuse of power and a disregard for citizens’ rights.
This incident comes in the context of a series of practices that demonstrate the so-called Transitional Council leaders’ monopolization of state facilities and public services, reflecting a complete disregard for the suffering of citizens, who are already suffering from deteriorating living conditions and services in Aden.
