Foreign Minister Meets With UN Resident Coordinator

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Jamal Amer, met on Sunday with Julien Harneis, the UN Resident Coordinator in Yemen

During the meeting, they discussed a report on the work of international organizations in Yemen, the recent meetings of the UN coordinator with donors, and the procedures for transferring projects previously implemented by closed NGOs to other organizations to continue the projects.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the ministry provides facilitation for international organizations and has established a Legal Support Department to offer legal awareness, resolve disputes, and provide legal guidance to avoid misunderstandings or violations of Yemeni laws.

For his part, the UN Coordinator highlighted the ongoing humanitarian services in Yemen but pointed out the global challenge of funding shortages for humanitarian projects, which is a problem faced by all countries in need of humanitarian assistance.
