Guterres: Palestinians Have Right To Govern Themselves & Live Freely In Their Own Land

United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres called on Tuesday, while participating in the extraordinary summit of the Arab League to end the humanitarian crisis in Gaza Strip by forming a political framework that lays the foundations for recovery in the Strip.

Guterres said:” “It is the right of the Palestinians to govern themselves and live freely in their own land.

He pointed out that the genocidal war in Gaza Strip led to unprecedented levels of killing , destruction and caused tremendous trauma.

Guterres demanded the removal of obstacles that hinder the flow and access of humanitarian aid to civilians in the Gaza Strip, emphasizing that this is not subject to negotiations.

He added that Gaza should be part of the Palestinian state, without reducing its area and subjecting its residents to forced relocation, and should be formed with the West Bank and Jerusalem, with the support of a Palestinian authority accepted by the Palestinians.
