Hamas spokesman, Abdulatif al-Qanu, has warned that within the few coming days the Gaza markets would be void of many basic commodities and foodstuffs.
He said in a press release on Thursday that the Gaza inhabitants are under a tightened siege for the second consecutive week after Israel blocked the entry of food, fuel, medicines, and basic commodities in a new starvation policy.
“Unless the international community shoulders its responsibility toward the Gaza Strip, its inhabitants would again slip into famine in the holy month of Ramadan,” al-Qanu underlined.
The Hamas spokesman urged the mediating countries to apply more pressure on Israel to open the Gaza crossings, allow entry of humanitarian aid materials, and end the policy of collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
