Hamas: The Israeli Assault On West Bank Mosques An Intensification Of Religious War

Hamas Movement said that the Israeli assault on mosques during Ramadan, including the incursions by occupation forces and settlers into Al-Aqsa Mosque and attempts to Judaize it, as well as the ongoing efforts to fully seize the Ibrahimi Mosque and the desecration and burning of several mosques in Nablus, “represent an intensification of the occupation’s religious war and an attack on Islamic sanctities as part of its open war against our people and land.”

In a statement on Friday, Hamas affirmed that these attacks on mosques in Nablus and Al-Khalil, including setting fire to rooms within them and preventing worshippers from performing the Fajr prayer, are a dangerous precedent that necessitates all efforts to prevent their recurrence and to firmly stand against the Israeli policies and ambitions.

It emphasized that the Palestinian people and their resistance will remain the strong shield defending their mosques and sanctities, which are subjected to assaults and desecration by the occupation and its settlers, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, a month of giving and jihad.

Hamas called on the Palestinian masses in the West Bank, Jerusalem, and 1948 occupied Palestine to escalate all forms of resistance and to intensify their presence and efforts to reach Al-Aqsa and Ibrahimi Mosques and to repel the occupation’s aggression against mosques and sanctities.
