Hamas Warns Of Potential Famine In Gaza

The Hamas Movement has warned of a potential famine in the Gaza Strip as the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) persists in closing the border crossings and preventing the entry of aid for the 10th consecutive day.

In a statement on Tuesday, Hamas described the Israeli blockade on Gaza as “collective punishment” and “political blackmail,” warning that such policies would exacerbate the suffering of more than two million Palestinians in Gaza.

Hamas also called the Israeli blockade a “stark violation of the international humanitarian law and the Geneva conventions” and a “war crime that threatens the lives of innocent civilians.”

The Movement appealed to the mediators to pressure the IOA to fulfill its obligations under the ceasefire agreement and to immediately reopen the crossings to ensure the flow of humanitarian aid.
