A new group of sick and wounded Palestinians has crossed from Gaza to Egypt for medical treatment following the reopening of the Rafah border crossing
According to the “Palestine Today” agency, 33 wounded and patients, accompanied by 55 of their relatives, left the Gaza Strip through the Rafah crossing as part of the 29th batch.
This medical evacuation outside the Gaza Strip is part of the first phase of the ceasefire agreement, which has been in effect since January 19. However, the occupation forces are reducing the number of travelers allowed each day.
The Gaza Strip is enduring a severe humanitarian crisis due to the genocide war waged by the occupation over the past 15 months, starting from October 7, 2023.
The deliberate attacks by the Zionist forces on hospitals and medical personnel, coupled with the blockade on medical equipment, supplies, and medicines, have exacerbated the health crisis and resulted in a critical shortage of necessary medical resources.
