South Africa condemned “Israel” for using “starvation as a weapon of war” in Gaza, after the occupying regime blocked the entry of humanitarian aid.
“Preventing food from entering Gaza is a continuation of Israel’s use of starvation as a weapon of war as part of the ongoing campaign of what the ICJ ruled to be plausible genocide against the Palestinian people,” the South African foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday.
It added that the people of Gaza are experiencing “immeasurable suffering and urgently need food, shelter and medical supplies.”
South Africa called on the international community to hold “Israel” accountable.
Some humanitarian aid entered Gaza following a ceasefire agreement on January 19. However, the Israeli occupation authorities halted aid entry into Gaza until the Hamas movement agrees to their terms for extending the ceasefire.
