Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Esmail Baghaei condemned the US and British military aggression against Yemen, stressing that the continued killing and occupation in occupied Palestine, with the full support of the United States and Britain, is a source of insecurity in the region.

Baghaei strongly condemned the brutal US and British airstrikes on various areas of Yemen, which resulted in the martyrdom and injury of dozens, including a number of innocent Yemeni women and children.

He stated that the US and British military aggression is a flagrant violation of the principles of the UN Charter and the basic norms of international law regarding the prohibition of the use of force and respect for the territorial integrity and national sovereignty of states.

He pointed to the responsibility of the United Nations and the Security Council to address violations and threats to international peace and security.

He added that the joint US and British military aggression against the resistant Yemeni people is consistent with these two countries’ continued support for the genocide of the oppressed Palestinian people and the suppression of any form of solidarity and support for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.

He emphasized that the roots of insecurity in West Asia lie in the ongoing killing and occupation of occupied Palestine, which continues with the full support of the United States, Britain, and some Western countries, and has posed an unprecedented threat to regional and international peace and security.

He pointed to the legal and moral responsibility of all governments and international and Islamic forums to confront the ongoing acts of genocide and ethnic cleansing in occupied Palestine, which are being carried out in various ways, including imposing hunger, starvation, and famine on the oppressed Palestinian people during the holy month of Ramadan. He called for urgent action in this regard.
