Violent Clashes In Marib & Mahra Sit-In Committee Rejects Provocations Of UAE Militia

Violent armed clashes erupted yesterday in Marib Governorate, which is controlled by the Islah militia.

Sources reported that bloody clashes erupted between gunmen from the Al-Damashqa tribe and others from the Al-Hudaylan tribe, following the killing of one citizen and the wounding of another from the Al-Damashqa tribe in the Asfal Al-Kawla area of Wadi Ubaida.

The sources indicated that heavy and medium weapons were used in the clashes, amidst escalating tensions.

This comes amid widespread tribal clashes in areas controlled by militias loyal to the Saudi-Emirati occupation.

In worrying developments, armed groups comprising more than 680 militants and 120 armored vehicles entered Al-Mahra Governorate, in a move described as provocative ahead of the visit of the UAE-backed mercenary Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.

These groups, which traveled in a militia-like manner, crossed all red lines by removing the republican flag from the Republican Palace and harassing checkpoints throughout the governorate.

The Mahra Sit-in Committee strongly condemned these actions, describing them as “a dangerous escalation that reveals the foolishness and mentality of the foreign-backed militias, whose loyalty is not to the homeland, but to the agendas of their operators.”

The committee emphasized that these steps aim to destabilize the peaceful governorate and impose a new reality that does not align with the aspirations of its people.

It noted that the random and militia-like entry of these forces “is not a show of force, but rather an attempt to create chaos and incite unrest,” warning against the continuation of these practices, which threaten social peace in the governorate.

It called on all Mahra residents to “stand together and stand united in the face of these suspicious attempts,” stressing that the governorate “will remain a symbol of security and stability and will reject any attempts to impose agendas by force.”

In addition, the Hadhramaut Tribal Alliance has reinforced its positions with dozens of armed men armed with light and medium weapons at the entrances to the coastal districts.

This step comes as part of the tightened measures implemented by the alliance to prevent any potential military movements by the Transitional Council militias towards the city of Mukalla, the provincial capital, and other coastal areas.

Local sources indicated that the militants arrived in a number of vehicles, reflecting the alliance’s readiness to reinforce its positions and impose control over vital areas.

The head of the “Tribal Alliance,” Amr bin Habrish al-Ali, had previously directed the alliance’s militants to raise their level of readiness and security vigilance to confront any potential threats.
