A Saudi Killed In Ataq Clashes & A Body Of A Murdered Mutilated In Zanzibar

Activists on social media circulated a video clip showing mercenary forces crucifying a man accused of belonging to Al-Qaeda in the occupied city of Zinjibar. They forced him to stand on top of a military vehicle and parade him through the city’s streets.

According to media reports, the incident occurred after violent clashes between members of the aggression’s mercenaries in the Ataq area, the capital of Shabwa Governorate.

Residents, according to media reports, said the target was a member of Al-Qaeda and was killed during the armed clashes. After his death, armed elements transported his body to a military vehicle, where it was crucified and paraded through the streets of Zinjibar in front of the public, roaming the city’s main streets in a horrific and unusual scene.

This incident comes amidst the security chaos, clashes, and liquidations between mercenary factions in Shabwa Governorate, Zinjibar, and the southern regions in general.

Media had previously reported the outbreak of violent clashes in the center of Ataq, the capital of Shabwa Governorate, leaving dead and wounded.

Sources reported that clashes erupted between gunmen from the so-called “counter-terrorism” militia, who had arrived from Abyan, and factions from the “Shabwa Defense” at the entrance to Ataq. The Shabwa Defense Forces were then informed of the mission.

The sources explained that the “Shabwa Defense Forces”, accompanied by members aboard dozens of armored vehicles and military vehicles, stormed a house located in “Plan 611” in the city of Ataq after encircling it.

The house was housing a number of terrorist elements. Violent clashes erupted between the factions and the elements during the raid, leaving five dead and wounded.

The sources reported that the clashes resulted in the death of one wanted member inside the house, and the injury of four other members of the factions, including three from the “Shabwa Defense Forces.” They confirmed that a number of wanted individuals surrendered following the clashes.

The sources added that the operation targeted members and leaders of Al-Qaeda, including foreigners, one of whom holds Saudi citizenship, as well as members of the Islah Party in Ataq.

The report indicated that the terrorist cell led by the Saudi leader acts as a coordinator between terrorist elements in Somalia, Yemen, and Syria, and was one of those who planned the assassination of Ahmed Mohsen al-Sulaymani al-Awlaki, commander of the so-called “Shabwa Defense Brigade,” with an explosive device in the Al-Musayna’ah area last October.
