Associated Press: US Navy Faces Fiercest Battle Since World War II

An international agency confirmed the difficulty of the US Navy’s battle in the Red Sea and the risks and difficulties it faces in the face of Yemeni capabilities in its attempt to protect shipping to the entity.

The Associated Press said, “Since last year, US warships have been engaged in the most intense sustained naval battle since World War II.”

The Associated Press added, “Navy leaders oppose extending the Truman carrier’s deployment so as not to disrupt maintenance schedules and delay the return of sailors exhausted by the unusually high tempo of combat.”

It continued, “It is rare for the United States to have two aircraft carriers in the Middle East at the same time.”

The agency indicated that Defense Secretary Hegseth is considering extending the Truman carrier’s deployment to the Central Command region for several additional weeks.
