Calls For A Global On Monday To Demand An End To The Genocide In Gaza

The Global Campaign to Stop the Genocide in Gaza (a coalition of international civil society organizations) called for participation in a global general strike to demand an end to the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.

The campaign said in a statement yesterday, “For the sake of Gaza, its children, and its women, to stop its genocide and killing, we call on you, free people of the world everywhere, to participate in the global strike to demand an end to the war of genocide in Gaza.”

It emphasized, “Your participation is a sign of loyalty to Gaza.” The strike call included Jordan, Oman, Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Algeria, Morocco, Libya, the UAE, Syria, occupied Jerusalem, and all Arab countries.

It’s worth noting that a global strike was called for December 11, 2023, two months after the start of the aggression on Gaza. Jordanians participated in the strike in an unprecedented way. Commercial and economic activities across the Kingdom’s governorates came to a standstill, with shops closing their doors.

Hundreds of companies announced the suspension of operations and the suspension of their employees. UNRWA schools also announced their participation in the strike.

The streets of the capital, Amman, the most densely populated city, and other cities witnessed a significant decline in traffic and passenger movement.

Since March 18, Israel resumed its war of extermination on Gaza, reneging on a ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas that had lasted 58 days since January 19, 2025.
