Clashes Between Occupation Militias In Al Mahrah

A fistfight erupted between recruits from the Saudi-funded “Homeland Shield” militia and police officers from the city of Qishn in Al Mahrah Governorate.

Informed sources reported that the clashes between the gunmen erupted after Qishn police seized a truck yesterday carrying 300 cartons of motorcycles and spare parts en route to Socotra via the Qishn port, west of Al Ghaydah.

They explained that a member of the “Homeland Shield” militia was about to ship the shipment to a merchant in Socotra.

The sources indicated that the Qishn police attempted to confiscate the shipment, but the “Homeland Shield” mercenaries objected, and the matter escalated into a verbal altercation and a fistfight.

They indicated that the verbal altercation between the members nearly led to armed clashes near the port.

In addition, Saudi Arabia summoned the governor of Hadramaut, loyal to the occupation, Mabkhout bin Madi, against the backdrop of armed and public mobilizations by the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council militias in the city of Mukalla, the provincial capital.

Mercenary Bin Madi traveled over 300 km by land from Mukalla to depart for the Saudi capital, Riyadh, via Sayoun Airport in Hadramaut Valley, as the UAE has continued to close Al-Rayyan Airport in Mukalla to civilian flights since 2016.

Diplomatic sources reported that Bin Madi’s recall came after he approved the entry of approximately 2,500 members brought in by the UAE from the Transitional Council militias in Aden, Al Dhale’e, and Lahj to Mukalla last week.

This came amid demands from the Saudi-backed “Tribal Alliance and Hadramaut Inclusive Conference” to expel militants from the coastal districts, while the “government and the Riyadh Council” loyal to the occupation remained silent.

The sources indicated that the UAE’s provocations against the people of Hadramaut, by funding a massive demonstration on Thursday in Mukalla by the Transitional Council from Aden and other southern governorates, were among the priorities of the Saudi recall of Bin Madi, following accusations by leaders of the alliance and the conference of colluding with the UAE to hold the event, which is likely to ignite the conflict in Hadramaut.
