Death Toll From The Iranian port explosion Rose To 18, Dead ,1,139 injured

The death toll from the huge explosion, which occurred yesterday, Saturday, in the port of Shahid Rajaee in southern Iran, has risen to at least 18 dead and 1,139 injured, in a new toll reported by the Iranian government spokeswoman on Sunday morning.

Iranian state television reported that the fire had been brought under control but had not yet been extinguished, with thick black smoke billowing from the area.

According to the Iranian News Agency, a spokesman for the Crisis Management Organization stated that “the cause of the explosion was the unsafe storage of chemicals inside containers.”

The explosion occurred on Saturday in one of the containers at the port, and the cause is unknown. The explosion caused material damage to one of the port buildings.
