Hamas: The Occupation’s Crimes Against Our Children Are “Imprescriptible”

The Hamas Movement has said that Israel’s crimes against Palestinian children are “imprescriptible,” calling for taking legal action against its leaders and adding its army to the UN list of shame.

“The Palestinian Child’s Day, celebrated annually on April 5th, is marked this year amid ongoing Zionist genocide, during which the occupation has committed thousands of crimes against Palestinian children in Gaza, the occupied West Bank, and Jerusalem. In Gaza, some 19,000 children have been killed, over 1,100 others have been detained, and around 39,000 have become orphaned by losing one or both parents, while thousands others face the threat of famine, malnutrition, and disease,” Hamas said in a statement .

“The fascist occupation continues its systematic targeting of children, using them as human shields, depriving them of education in Gaza, while continues attempts to strip the children living in our 1948-occupied territories of their national identity through targeting curricula, spreading crime, and damaging values,” the statement read.

Hamas warned that impunity encourages the Israeli regime to escalate its crimes against innocent Palestinian children, condemning the international community and its human rights organizations for failing to take action to hold Israel accountable.

Hamas called on human rights group to shoulder their responsibilities towards Palestinian children through exposing Israel’s crimes against them and providing them with protection.

It also accused the Israeli occupation of “systematically targeting Palestinian children by using them as human shields, depriving them of education, and attempting to undermine their national identity in 1948 occupied Palestine through tampering with curricula, spreading crime and destroying values.”
