The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, welcomed the position of the General Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) during its 150th session held in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, which rejected the Israeli plans to displace the residents of the Gaza Strip.
It called, in a statement on Thursday, for the activation of the boycott and international isolation of Israel, and for deterrent measures to stop its aggression against the Palestinian people.
Hamas considered the parliamentary stance a new slap to Israel and its supporters, reaffirming international support for the justice of the Palestinian cause and the right of the Palestinian people to their land.
The Movement also appreciated the role and efforts of Arab, Islamic, and African parliaments, as well as all friendly parliaments that participated in this meeting, which supported the just rights of the Palestinian people, rejected displacement and liquidation projects, and boycotted the speech of the Israeli representative.
Hamas urged IPU members to continue this approach by enhancing the comprehensive boycott of Israel politically, diplomatically, security-wise, and militarily, and to take effective and deterrent steps to stop its aggression and genocidal crimes against the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank, and Jerusalem.
