Mercenaries Block Vital Road In Taiz, Worsening Humanitarian Crisis

For the second consecutive day, mercenaries affiliated with the Islah Party have shut down the Al-Qasr Al-Kamb – Al-Ashraf Road, a key route in Taiz province, severely disrupting civilian movement and trapping hundreds of families.

Eyewitnesses reported that Islah forces turned back dozens of cars and buses, forcing many to sleep in their vehicles or on sidewalks under harsh conditions. Some who protested the arbitrary blockade were assaulted.

Locals condemned the move, accusing Islah of perpetuating Taiz’s years-long siege and exploiting civilian suffering for political gain.

Activists and rights groups demanded urgent action to reopen the road, holding Islah party fully responsible for the escalating crisis.

Taiz has endured a suffocating humanitarian crisis for years due to repeated, unjustified road closures by Islah-affiliated forces.
