A general strike brought life to a standstill across the occupied West Bank, including Jerusalem, on Monday, in protest against the ongoing Israeli genocide in the Gaza Strip.
In response to the strike call, all the public and private facilities closed their doors, including universities, stores, banks and courts.
Accordingly, Palestinian citizens stopped going to their workplaces and closed businesses. Public transportation also came to a halt.
Palestinian popular, factional, and union appeals were launched on Sunday, calling for a general strike across the West Bank and east Jerusalem in solidarity with Gaza, where a US-backed genocidal war has been taking place since October 2023.
These calls coincided with a global call for a general strike today, Monday, demanding an end to the brutal war on Gaza and denouncing Israel’s relentless war crimes against the besieged population.
