Hadramaut Governorate witnessed a horrific collision between two public transport buses carrying expatriates and Umrah pilgrims.
The accident resulted in the deaths of eight people and the injury of more than 40 others, some of whom are in critical condition. The death toll is still unknown.
According to media reports, the accident occurred at the Ma’rib Junction area while the two buses were traveling on the Ma’rib-Al-Abr-Al-Wadi’ah Road, which has suffered significant deterioration and has not been maintained or rehabilitated for decades.
The emergency department at Al-Abr Hospital is on high alert following the arrival of dozens of injured people, while critical cases have been transferred to other hospitals for necessary medical care.
Ma’rib-Al-Abr-Al-Wadi’ah Road is one of the most dangerous vital roads in the country. Thousands of travelers and expatriates are forced to use it in the absence of any safe alternatives due to the ongoing aggression, blockade, and deliberate neglect by the mercenary government
