UN: 71 Lebanese Civilians Martyred In Zionist Violations

The Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights announced that the Zionist enemy entity “has killed at least 71 civilians in its continued aggression against Lebanon since the ceasefire came into effect on November 27 of last year.”

The Office explained that among the martyrs were 14 women and nine children, while “fear continues to grip people, and more than 92,000 people remain displaced from their homes.”

In a press briefing at the United Nations in Geneva, Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights spokesperson Thamin Al-Khitan said that Beirut’s southern suburbs “were subjected, for the first time since the ceasefire, to shelling in two separate incidents, with the targeted area surrounding two schools.”

He noted that an Israeli airstrike hit a residential building on the morning of April 1, killing two civilians and causing extensive damage to nearby buildings.

On April 3, Israeli airstrikes also hit a newly constructed medical center run by the Islamic Medical Association in the town of Naqoura in southern Lebanon, completely destroying the facility and damaging two ambulances.

Between April 4 and 8, reports indicated that the enemy entity killed at least six people in airstrikes on several towns in southern Lebanon.

A spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Refugees confirmed that Israeli airstrikes on Lebanese territory, since the ceasefire, have targeted civilian infrastructure, including residential buildings, medical facilities, roads, and at least one café in Aita al-Shaab.

This comes as the enemy entity continues to violate the ceasefire with Lebanon through its attacks on the South, the Bekaa, and the southern suburbs of Beirut, maintaining its occupation of the five points.

On Tuesday, one person was killed and three others, including a child, were injured in an airstrike targeting a red Rapid car in the town of Aitaroun, in the Bint Jbeil district, in the south of the country.
