UNICEF: Approximately 21 Malnutrition Treatment Centers In Gaza Closed Due To Resumption of Aggression

UNICEF spokesperson Kazem Abu Khalaf announced on Sunday the closure of approximately 21 malnutrition treatment centers in Gaza as a result of the resumption of the Israeli aggression and the issuance of evacuation orders in the affected areas.

He explained in press statements that UNICEF is awaiting the release of a report from the Food Security Classification Commission in the Gaza Strip and the presentation of the findings.

He pointed out that the Israeli occupation continues to close the crossings with the Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of aid, medical supplies, nutritional supplements, and other supplies for 35 days. It is worth noting that UNICEF stated yesterday that more than one million children in the Gaza Strip have been deprived of life-saving assistance for more than a month, noting that the continued denial of aid entry into Gaza constitutes a violation of international humanitarian law and has dire consequences for children.

UNICEF confirmed that it has thousands of aid parcels waiting to enter the Gaza Strip, and that these must be allowed in immediately. Furthermore, complementary foods for infants in Gaza have run out, and only enough ready-to-eat milk remains for 400 children for a month.
