US Dragged Into Yemen Quagmire As ‘Operation Raging Stallion’ Backfires

American media outlets have highlighted Washington’s entanglement in Yemen after former President Donald Trump launched an unprovoked aggression in mid-March of last year.

The news site Fox News warned that the US military campaign against Yemen, dubbed “Operation Raging Stallion,” could drag Washington into another quagmire, contradicting Trump’s pledges to end “forever wars.”

In a published report, the outlet noted that Yemen had initially suspended its military operations in the Red Sea when the Gaza ceasefire took effect in January. However, Sana’a forces resumed their operations in early March in response to the Israeli blockade preventing aid from reaching Gaza.

The report added, “Despite relative calm in the Red Sea since the start of ‘Operation Raging Stallion,’ the Yemenis have vowed to continue fighting, launching several missiles and drones at Israel.”

It also revealed that significant resources have been allocated to the aggression against Yemen. The Pentagon has deployed a second aircraft carrier group to the region, joining an existing one, along with at least two Patriot missile batteries and a THAAD missile defense system relocated from Asia to occupied territories.

The report questioned how long the US would sustain this operation if Yemen does not halt its activities in the near future, indicating that officials are considering gradually scaling back strikes.

Since mid-March, the United States has renewed its aggression against Yemen, which opposes the genocide in Gaza and has conducted operations in solidarity with the Palestinian people, including a naval blockade on Zionist shipping and drone and missile strikes targeting Zionist sites in occupied Palestine.
