The Yemeni military media released footage documenting the moment the Yemeni Armed Forces shot down an American MQ-9 drone, along with images of its wreckage.
The US drone was downed by Yemeni air defenses, using a locally manufactured surface-to-air missile while it was conducting hostile operations over Sana’a province on Saturday.
Earlier in the day, Brigadier General Yahya Sare’e announced that the Yemen’s Air Defense Force successfully downed a US MQ-9 unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV).
This is the second drone that the Yemeni air defenses have successfully shot down within 24 hours and the sixth during the current month of April. This brings the number of drones shot down during the Battle of the Promised Victory and Holy Jihad to 21.
