Jerusalem Governorate reported that Israeli occupation authorities carried out 34 demolition and bulldozing operations in the city and arrested 58 Palestinians during last April.
The Governorate explained in a report published today, Monday, that the demolitions included (5) forced self-demolitions, during which Jerusalemites were forced to demolish their homes to avoid fines, (25) demolitions carried out by enemy vehicles by force, and (4) bulldozing operations targeting Palestinian lands and streets, under the pretext of unlicensed construction.
During April, it monitored (31) settler attacks, including two assaults involving physical harm, reflecting a dangerous escalation in settler attacks against Palestinian citizens, their property, and their holy sites.
It indicated that approximately (45) people were injured as a result of live ammunition, rubber-coated metal bullets, and severe beatings, in addition to cases of gas suffocation, including two injuries resulting from settler attacks.
During April, (10,111) settlers stormed Al-Aqsa Mosque under the protection of Israeli forces, carried out provocative tours, and performed Talmudic rituals in various areas, in direct violation of the sanctity of the holy site.
The Jerusalem Governorate recorded the arrest of (58) Jerusalemites during April, including (3) women and (5) children.
The Israeli courts imposed unfair decisions on the detainees, ranging from actual prison sentences to house arrest, in addition to deportation orders and heavy fines.
The report documented the issuance of (27) actual prison sentences by Israeli courts against Jerusalemite prisoners, including (11) administrative detention orders, meaning that the detainees were not charged.
During the past month, the Israeli authorities issued (4) house arrest orders and (13) deportation orders against Palestinians, including (6) orders to ban them from Al-Aqsa Mosque.
During April, the Jerusalem Governorate monitored continued intensive settlement activity in Jerusalem. Seven new settlement plans were tracked through official announcements issued by the Israeli municipality of Jerusalem.
These plans are divided into various stages, including deposit, approval, and tenders.
April saw the approval of three plans in Jerusalem, and a tender was issued for the development of public spaces, a park, and swimming pools in the Gilo settlement.
On April 8, the Israeli occupation inaugurated a new settlement project aimed at demolishing 95 Jerusalemite homes west of occupied Jerusalem, in preparation for the construction of 392 new settlement units in the same area.
