Amid a bloody military escalation by the occupying enemy army against the Gaza Strip, the health sector is facing a catastrophic collapse.
The Director General of Al-Shifa Medical Complex announced the deaths of hundreds of people and the injury of thousands in just four days, confirming that all hospitals in the northern Gaza Strip are out of service.
In his statements, the Director General of Al-Shifa Medical Complex pointed to the deteriorating humanitarian situation with the influx of massive numbers of injured and sick patients, amid a severe shortage of basic medical supplies, which has already led to the deaths of patients.
He revealed the enormity of the human losses resulting from the recent escalation, noting that the complex has received more than 500 martyrs and more than 1,000 wounded in the past four days.
He emphasized that this massive influx greatly exceeds the complex’s capacity and prevents the provision of necessary medical services to both the wounded and the sick.
In a related context, the Director General of the complex noted the deaths of kidney patients today due to the severe shortage of medical supplies necessary for their treatment, warning of an unprecedented deterioration in health conditions under these conditions.
For its part, the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza announced that the warehouse for solutions and medical supplies inside the Nasser Medical Complex was damaged as a result of the enemy’s bombing.
This development represents another devastating blow to the already dilapidated health sector, exacerbating the difficulty of providing necessary treatment and care to patients and the wounded.
These tragic developments reflect the scale of the humanitarian catastrophe afflicting the Gaza Strip and call for urgent international action to halt the military escalation, provide protection for civilians and healthcare facilities, and ensure the immediate delivery of medical and humanitarian supplies to save the lives of thousands facing the risk of death due to the bombing and lack of healthcare.
