Armed Clashes Between Occupation Militias Leave Casualties In Taiz & Abyan

Armed clashes erupted yesterday between militias loyal to the Saudi-Emirati occupation in Abyan Governorate.

Sources reported that violent clashes broke out between officers of the so-called Sixth Support and Reinforcement Brigade, loyal to the occupation, in an area near Al-Wahda Stadium in the city of Zinjibar.

The clashes erupted due to disagreements over the division of proceeds from the sale of ammunition and weapons from the brigade’s camp.

The sources indicated that the clashes resulted in the injury of three officers, and came less than 24 hours after the militia commander, Ali Nasser Al-Maakr, resigned from his position.

In addition, clashes erupted between gunmen and a security force affiliated with the Islah militia in the city of Taiz, which is controlled by the Islah party in southwestern Yemen.

Sources reported that Taiz security recruits riding in a pickup truck clashed with gunmen in front of Al-Rawdah Hospital in the center of Taiz.

The sources confirmed that three Taiz security recruits were wounded by gunfire from the gunmen, one of whom was injured. Other civilians were also wounded.

In a related development, occupation militias attacked their own wounded in the war in Marib yesterday.

Sources said that members of the so-called Marib Police Chief, Naji al-Munifi, assaulted the wounded, disabled man, Abdullah al-Busais, head of the National Association for the Wounded and Disabled in Marib.
