Palestinian citizens in Gaza have rejected the new Israeli mechanisms proposed for food distribution, asserting that they are a “trap” aimed at forcibly displacing them or targeting them under the guise of humanitarian aid.
According to what was reported by the Palestine Online Agency on Sunday, the citizens issued an urgent appeal to international and humanitarian organizations to compel the Israeli enemy to halt its starvation policy, which is part of the ongoing genocide against the Gaza Strip.
In this regard, Abu Shaker al-Awidat (67 years old) said: “The enemy is using hunger as a pressure card to deny us our right to a decent life in our land, and is pushing for our forced displacement from the Gaza Strip.”
He added to the Filastin newspaper that the mechanisms being promoted by Israel for distributing aid are unclear, and no party has provided a clear explanation of how they work.
He expressed his concerns, saying: “We fear that this will turn into a trap, whereby the enemy forces the residents of Gaza to move to the central or southern regions to receive their food rations, then prevents them from returning.
For his part, Amjad Shawa, Director of the NGO Network in the Gaza Strip, called on the World Food Program (WFP) to change the mechanism for distributing food aid, especially flour, so that it is delivered directly to families across the Strip, instead of random distribution, which the enemy deliberately creates, causing chaos and deteriorating security.
This call came after tragic scenes documented by activists, showing citizens scrambling to obtain a bag of flour.
Shawa emphasized that the current unorganized distribution endangers the lives of civilians and increases their suffering.
He called for an organized distribution of flour according to fair rations based on the number of family members, and for coordination with municipalities and local authorities to ensure the safe delivery of aid.
Shawa pointed out that Gaza is experiencing its worst food crisis in years and requires urgent and organized intervention from the international community.
Since March 18, the enemy has resumed its genocidal campaign against Gaza, reneging on a 58-day ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement with Hamas, brokered by Qatar and Egypt, with American support.
