British low-cost airline EasyJet has announced the extension of its flight suspension to and from “Israel” until June 30, due to fears of Yemeni missile strikes.
The Hebrew economic newspaper Globes reported on Wednesday, “EasyJet, the British low-cost airline, has announced the extension of its suspension of flights to and from Tel Aviv until June 30.”
The report noted that the company had initially announced in January its plan to resume flights to “Israel” in June, after suspending operations since April 2024 following the first drone attack.
It added, “Initially, flights were suspended until the end of October 2024, but in August, with the escalation of war in the north with Lebanon’s Hezbollah, EasyJet extended the suspension until March 2025, and then until June 2025.”
EasyJet joins other foreign airlines that announced extended flight cancellations this week, including Air Canada, which stated it would not resume flights until next September, and British Airways, which will not return until mid-June.
These decisions come amid fears of Yemeni missiles that have imposed an air blockade on Lod Airport, known as “Ben Gurion” Airport in occupied Jaffa.
