Eight people were injured and five airlines suspended their flights to Yaffa on Sunday after a Yemeni ballistic missile struck Ben Gurion Airport, located north of the occupied city of Lod.
According to the Hebrew newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth, the Zionist emergency services confirmed that the number of injuries from the missile strike at Ben Gurion Airport has risen to eight.
Israeli media reported that the explosion created a 25-meter-deep crater inside the airport.
Army Radio quoted a military source saying that the American THAAD and Israeli Arrow (Hetz) missile defense systems attempted to intercept the missile but failed.
Zionist media further reported that five European airlines suspended their flights to Tel Aviv today, while a French airline announced a suspension until Tuesday morning, following the missile strike near the airport.
The Israeli occupation army officially announced on Sunday that a missile had been launched from Yemen toward Israel, confirming its failure to intercept it.
Israel’s Home Front Command stated that air raid sirens were sounded in Jaffa (Tel Aviv), Jerusalem, and settlements in the West Bank following the missile launch.
Millions of settlers fled to shelters after the missile was launched from Yemen.
