The General Authority of Antiquities and Museums in Sanaa issued a new list of lost antiquities that were looted, robbed, smuggled, and offered for sale in international auctions abroad, under the name “Our Looted Antiquities.”
In a statement, the Authority indicated that these looted artifacts are currently being displayed in international auctions and on promotional platforms for auctions.
The statement noted that this list is the 25th issued by the Authority through its artifact tracking and monitoring team.
It explained that the looted items include a number of pieces such as human and animal heads and statues, inscriptions, gold, vessels, and other rare artifacts.
The authority called on the relevant international bodies to halt such auctions as they violate international laws on this matter and to return the rightful heritage to its owners.
