Hundreds of people demonstrated in Heidelberg, Germany, in solidarity with Palestine and in condemnation of the ongoing genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Protesters waved Palestinian flags and chanted, “Free, Free Palestine.” They also held signs, including one that read:” As you go to class today, remember—there are no universities left in Gaza.”
One of the protesters carried a sign listing the names of children killed by Israeli occupation forces before reaching their first birthday.
The Israeli occupation launched a genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, which has so far killed at least 52,810 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children, and injured more than 119,473 others.
