Ireland Intends To Ban Trade With “Israel” In Response To genocide In Gaza

The Irish government plans to introduce legislation this week banning trade with Israeli companies in the occupied Palestinian territories, the first such move within the European Union, in response to genocide crimes in Gaza Strip.

According to “the Financial Times” newspaper, Foreign Minister Simon Harris explained that the legislation is a response to the escalation of “war crimes” in the Strip, stressing the need for concrete action.

Harris noted that “war crimes are being committed, children are being starved, and food is being used as a weapon,” calling for global action.

Preparation of the draft law is expected to begin tomorrow, Tuesday, days after most European Union countries vote to review the partnership agreement with “Israel”.

Although Ireland’s imports from Israeli settlements are limited, the government, which has previously recognized the State of Palestine, is seeking to urge European countries to follow suit.
