A large number of Israeli officers and soldiers have informed their commanders of their intention not to participate in combat as part of the expanded military operation in Gaza, the Israeli newspaper Haaretz reported on Sunday, citing sources.
Meanwhile, Yedioth Ahronoth stated that the Israeli army recently instructed tens of thousands of reservists to begin preparing for a return to combat in the Gaza Strip.
A reservist was quoted as saying that a growing number of soldiers have recently been evading military service and are looking for excuses.
Hebrew media outlets had earlier revealed that mobilization orders have begun to be sent to reservists, in preparation for calling up tens of thousands to expand the ongoing genocidal war on the Gaza Strip.
