In a new move that reinforces the failure of the aggression’s tools to halt the economic decline in the occupied areas, the mercenaries are seeking to raise the customs dollar rate.
According to activists, the mercenary government is putting the final touches to a disastrous decision to raise the customs dollar rate on all imports through sea, air, and land ports to 1,500 riyals per dollar, instead of 700 riyals, the current customs tax rate.
Activists emphasized that this catastrophic decision will cause a massive societal catastrophe and will dramatically raise the prices of basic commodities and foodstuffs, a disaster that will cause significant harm to the people.
Activists continued, “Years ago, the decision to raise the customs dollar rate from 300 to 700 riyals had a detrimental effect, raising the prices of basic commodities by more than 40% of their previous price, which is what will happen now.”
Activists indicated that such an adoption would push people into a hunger revolution, as it would affect what remains of their livelihoods.
